Legal Research 101

This session will look at the tools which any citizen with access to an internet connection may find answers to their legal questions.  On the way we can look at some interesting laws which are on the books – for example did you know that it is illegal to tell fortunes for money unless you are sincere?  This is in your modern criminal code – section 365 … We will look at free websites and check out some interesting laws.  Since we elect the people who make the laws — we need to follow up and see what is being done on our behalf!

February 17th @ 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Portage College, Lac La Biche (room 143).

Presenter:  Leslie Kieth, Library Coordinator, Alberta Law Libraries.

Sessions are FREE however registration is required to attend. Please register early as seating is limited. Registration deadline is noon the day before a scheduled session.
